This week is Academic Book Week – a “week-long celebration of the diversity, innovation and influence of academic books throughout history”. It was first launched in 2015, and was so successful that we are delighted to welcome it back in 2017. It has been organised by the British Library, the British Academy, UCL, Research Libraries UK, the Publishers Association, the Booksellers Association and the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers. A pretty impressive list, I am sure you will agree.
There will be a series of events throughout the country including debates, workshops and competitions. In addition, you get the chance to vote for which book you think has shaped modern Britain from the list below:
By clicking on each book image on the website, you can find out more about the book and what academics have to say. Voting opens now and closes at midnight on Monday 23rd January, and then the winner will be revealed.
And if all this was not enough to make your head spin, some publishers are offering particularly good discounts for this week only on selected titles, so do check the website for details.
