From Monday 7th November, 2016, 24 hour opening will return to the Hartley Library. This timing is in line with the setting of University assignment deadlines, coursework hand-in dates and the increase in footfall in the Library itself. So, starting Week 6, Semester 1, the Hartley Library will be open again for 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Opening for the longer hours supports student choice as well as offering you flexibility about when you prefer to study and to access the materials you need. The Library extends its opening hours in term time because you, the students, asked us to.
24 hour opening will continue for the rest of the autumn term. The Hartley will close its doors again at midnight on Friday 16th December. After the Christmas break, we’ll resume 24 hour opening as the new term begins and into the Semester 1 revision and exam period.
Look out for more details about opening times over the Christmas and New Year holiday period as the time approaches – on our social media channels, posters in the Library and from the University Library website: Library opening times .
