The University Library and the Faculty of Humanities are working with Estates and other services to improve the learning environment for students at the Avenue campus. This work is taking place during Summer 2015.
An increased number of study spaces will be provided with a greater variety of seating. Improvements are being made to the general décor as well as to furniture. The environment we provide for academic study at Avenue campus will be even better.
This programme of works is being managed to minimise disruption to students and staff. Work will take place in two phases: from July to September and then from October to November. Noisy activity will be timed to have the minimum of impact on students and staff.
On completion, the new development will integrate the two existing Library services: the Avenue Library and the Language Resources Centre. Today, Friday 10th July, the Language Resources Centre at the Avenue campus closes. The majority of the resources have been transferred to the Avenue Library (B65-R2083) for the summer months. Throughout the summer work will continue on the improvements to Level 2.
We will continue to provide regular updates on progress with this work. We will include details of the new Library service developments at the Avenue campus. We will use social media as well as the Library website to inform you.
