Hartley Library is offering 24/7 opening again from yesterday (20th April) right through till 5th June, to help you with exam preparation. As before all information for students about 24/7 opening is on the LibGuide at: http://library.soton.ac.uk/hartley/24houropening
In previous years we have had many complaints about students leaving their possessions on desks to reserve them so we ask that desks are not left unattended for more than 30 minutes. There will be regular sweeps of the Library throughout the day and night, leaving dated and timed slips on items which have been left. We will not remove your possessions but students looking for a work space are welcome to use a space where the slip indicates that it has been unoccupied for more than thirty minutes.
All Library books left unattended will be collected and shelved so they are available to others, so please make sure you keep with you any charged items.
You are able to book study desks in both the Course Collection area and Level 5. These should be booked in the same way as Group Study Rooms:
The Level 4 training rooms will be available to students during 24/7 when not booked for teaching and the Reception Desk staff will be able to tell you which times these will be available for your use.
We do hope this helps you, but most important of all is your safety and peace of mind. If you are feeling stressed, please come and talk to us, or look at the support offered on the bottom of our web page:
And don’t forget, the SUSU Safety Bus will be operating an extended service over the 24/7 period to ensure everyone can get home safely.
It will operate from the redbrick area between the SUSU shop and Stags from 8pm until the Uni Link buses start at 6am. It costs £1.50 if you live within 3 miles of campus and will take you back to your front door. Be safe!
